Some semester work

Here are some characters I designed for one of my classes. A big influence on these designs was Nic Ter Horst.

Bride of Frankenstein

I just wanted to sketch something fun before I decided to go to bed.

Visual Development Project

So here's my first project from my visual development class. It's definitely more difficult than I anticipated it was going to be, but I can't wait to challenge myself and watch my artwork grow!

I did another profile piece, this time of Elizabeth from Bioshock. Sorry for all the fanart, it’s just such a pretty game! I can’t resist! I’ll probably go back and make changes to this one.

Finished the Lutece twins. I took some suggestions I received and then I also made some other changes I felt needed to be made.

I finally did some Bioshock Infinite fanart. I'll eventually get around to drawing Robert too.

Random Studies

Just some random studies I did, since I couldn't come up with any ideas on what to draw. I drew my foot, my dog's foot, and my dog's eye. This was my first time doing an actual study in Photoshop rather than on paper.

 

 

Sherlock

So I finally watched the very first episode of Sherlock. I don’t know why I waited so long to watch it. Also starting it late at night was a very bad idea…but I don’t regret it. I don’t know if I’ll ever finish this doodle, but I just really wanted to attempt drawing his face.

Okay, so I finished it. I just couldn’t resist. I also wanted to experiment with some textured brushes, so I did that too. I’m happy with it.

Da Na Na Na Na Na Na Na BATMAN!

I wanted to draw Batman today. I dunno why I made him heavy, I just felt like it I guess. I also did a recording of this one. I’m still debating if I’m going to upload it. If I do, I’ll post the link or something.  So I uploaded the video, here is the link!

Jasper!

My sister challenged me to draw my dog, Jasper, in a Tim Burton style. I gave it a shot. I think I might go back and try it again. It's been a long time since I've done anything to look like it's in the Tim Burton style, so I'm a little rusty. I finally uploaded the video of the process, which you can watch here!!

Ren & Stimpy

An attempt at the style of Ren & Stimpy. I’m not really sure how close I am to nailing, I’m happy with it, and I think I’m pretty close, but I never watched the show that much when I was little.

Angry Beavers!

I decided to do a really quick layout in the style of The Angry Beavers, just for fun. I really wanted to play with the style. I’m happy with how it came out. It took me about an hour to do everything, so I’m sure there are plenty of technical issues with it, but I’m proud of it :) I'm also a total 90's kid if that wasn't apparent...hahaha

Sleep

I've been trying to practice every night, but tonight I didn't have anything creative in mind...so I just drew myself sleeping...

Painting Practice

I decided to try something different. I've really been wanting to practice painting digitally. I was looking at a lot of work from Daemion Elias George-Cox (you can check out his work here). He's an amazing artist. This piece was inspired by some of his pieces.It needs a lot of work, but it's a start. Any critique/constructive criticism is welcome.

Iguana

My take on the Friday Challenge from the Character Design Shuffle App's Facebook page (which I will link here ). I included the image of the words that go with the drawing and I decided to include a little bit of process work with the drawing itself.

More BeetleJuice!

This is something that was way overdue. Last summer I told a friend of mine that as a trade for drawing me and alien, I would draw him my favorite cartoon character, I just did get around to doing it! Sorry it's late, Cory!!!

Another Character Design Shuffle. I decided to include some reference in the final piece this time.

New tablet pen!

I'm sorry for being gone for a short time. My tablet pen broke, but I just got my new one in the mail today. Also it's been the first week of my summer, and I spent most of it sleeping... Anyway here's a new sketch with my new pen!

Mary Blair Inspired Layout

My homework for my layout class. I chose to do my project in the style of Mary Blair...probably one of the toughest things I've ever done, but I'm happy with it!

Layout Assignment 1

This one still needs a lot of work, but here's what I have so far on my first assignment for my layout class. it looks a little too much like I was trying to stylize it to be similar to Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, but I like it.

Something New

I tried working in Flash instead today, I like how it came out. I think I'm going to keep trying to work with this.
